This is an unusua l film of e xceptio nal values--7 5 minutes long  in color,  with hardly any spoke n dialo gs. I saw  this Irani an film  in Farsi w ithout  English subti tles at the Early Ira nian cinema r etrospective  on-going Inter national Film F estival of Kerala,  India. Th at I was watch ing a p rint without subtitles  did not mak e a differenc e as ther e were very f ew lines o f spoken dialo gs. This i s a very acce ssible film f or any aud ience to enjo y--its s tory and value s are not  merely Irania n, it&#39 ;s universal.  The film  is set in rura l Iran that h ad not  tasted pet ro-dollar prosperit y. The settin g is on f ringes of deser t land,  where wate r is scar ce, rainfall scanty and hardly a ny blade of  grass is green. Add to  it wind a nd dust that  buffets and w hips man and animal and yo u can i magine plight of the people who live o n the fringes  of society.  The film is moving ta le of a y oung teenager return ing to his vil lage wi th a goat--on ly to find his  family and vill agers have mov ed on to e scape natur es vaga ries and that o ne old man re mains. He giv es the goat to him and goe s in sear ch of his fa mily.
